Saying Goodbye to "Paradise"
As we are all too used to saying -- all good
things must come to an end.
Jim Saxon's "Paradise" and "Hi-Fi
in Paradise" columns were not just one of the best things to read each month in SoundStage!,
it was one of the best things to read anywhere. Sometimes biting, occasionally
touching, and almost always very funny, Jim did what no other audio columnist has done
before -- he mixed fiction with humor and audio, and he made it all very
enjoyable to read.
Unfortunately, May 2003 was Jim's last month
writing these columns, and we'll miss reading his observations. While editing and
formatting some articles can be a chore, we always enjoyed getting to Jim's monthly
contribution. We doubt we'll see anything quite like "Paradise" or "Hi-Fi
in Paradise" again.
