As I write this article, Jeff Fritz is finishing with the last bit of product coverage and proofreaders are going over our work to weed out mistakes. Undoubtedly, they'll find more than a few errors. In four days we produced more coverage from CES 2010 in Las Vegas than all of our competitors combined. We shot and published over 100 high-resolution product photos and wrote captions for each one, gave out awards, and worked late every night and woke up early every morning to continue working so that we could bring to you our brand of timely, high-quality coverage. It was important to do this -- especially this year.

The year 2010 marks our 15th year of publishing online. In 1995 we were the first-ever speciality-audio online publication, and we quickly established a leadership position. Ever since, we've been able to proudly say, We're number one! Since '95, we've also grown to include a network of related sites, and we now cover home-theater products as well. But that doesn't mean we're resting on past successes; instead, we're always striving to improve.

Our goal going into this show was to give the world the best CES coverage ever. That's a lofty goal considering what we've done in the past. All told, I think we've succeeded, but it's you who has to be the judge. My suggestion is to compare our coverage to our competitors and make up your own mind about my claim.

At present, the SoundStage! Network has in place its best management, editorial, and technical team ever. The core coverage team for this show report included Jeff Fritz, Roger Kanno, John Crossett and me. The behind-the-scenes team included Karen Fanas, our first-rate art director who oversees all the visual elements of the SoundStage! Network sites, including the design of the Las Vegas 2010 site; Jebadiah Roberts, one of our main copy editors; and Andrew Jones, an intern student on assignment to our network who has been tasked to proofread this report. Producing a show report like this one is a big undertaking and requires plenty of help.

But that's not all: we also had some additional SoundStagers! who made the trip to Las Vegas this year. There is Kevin East, who will be writing a show report that will be published on GoodSound!; James Saxon, who will be producing his annual Jimmy Awards for SoundStage!; Norm Luttbeg, who is here to produce a report for Ultra Audio; and Wes Marshall, who made the trip to Vegas with his wife, Emily, who was kind enough to take the picture that you see below. We all went out for dinner on Saturday night to Planet Hollywood to celebrate another good year.

Around the table starting from the left: Kevin East, Wes Marshall, Doug Schneider, Roger Kanno, Jeff Fritz, Norm Luttbeg, John Crossett, and James Saxon.

We went to Las Vegas with lofty goals for ourselves, and we surpassed them all. Now we're leaving Las Vegas on a roll and looking forward to more projects and initiatives in 2010. It's not enough to say you're the best; we have to constantly prove our worth to you. We may be 15 years old, but we have so much enthusiasm these days that we feel like we're just starting out. Look for more to come in 2010 ... and beyond!
